What this site records

Ente Bonsai is a personal website. It has no advertising, sells nothing, and uses no tracking cookies or third-party analytics.

Visits

To see which pages and trees people look at, the site’s own server records each page you view and each tree or photograph you open, zoom, share or save. With each of those it keeps:

  • the time;
  • your IP address, and the approximate location that comes with it (city, region and country);
  • your browser, device type and screen size;
  • the website that linked you here, if any (its name only, not the full address).

Your visit is held together by a random number your browser keeps for that tab only. It is not a cookie and is forgotten when you close the tab.

These records are kept for 90 days and then deleted automatically. Only I can see them. They are not shared or sold, and I do not use them to find out who you are.

You can switch this off for your browser below. Browsers that send the Global Privacy Control signal are never recorded.

Comments, corrections and photo requests

If you send a comment, a correction, a photo request or a question, the site keeps what you wrote and the name and email address you give, so I can read it and reply. Your email address is never shown on the site.

Services the site uses

The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which handles every request on its way to the server. Videos are embedded from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode and load only when you scroll to them.
